Several months ago I had the idea for an experimental Jazz album: I'd get one of those portable roll-up keyboards and record my cats playing with it. Then I'd lay down snappy drum tracks and samples of other instruments. I'd produce a whole album and call it Maaml.

It's not a particularly novel idea though. There's already Music for Cats (not to be confused with Musik Fur Cats by Skinny Puppy's cEvin Key), Playing Music with Animals, and music by animals (The Thai Elephant Orchestra is the only one I know of).

Again, it brings up the question of what constitutes music, and what qualifies a person as a musician. Can a non-human person be a musician?
